A-race notes: Tim Erwin won the race and the tough guy award in an event that
saw much crashing on a tight, technical course. Riders involved in accidents
included Wykoff, Morgan, Loucks, Allen, Boland, and Erwin. Erwin crashed very
hard while leading on lap 20, approximately 30 minutes into the race. At
this point, the racers sat up and demanded that pylons on the south and west
ends of the circuit be moved to open up the course. The top-3 at the time (21
laps completed) were Smith, Spears, and Larson. A meeting between the
promoter, chief referee, and most of the A-racers led to a decision for a
restart and a shortened 20 minute race, all riders on the same lap. Ten laps
into the re-started race the winning break emerged that included
Knight-Williamson, Erwin, and Spears. Erwin took the final sprint followed
very closely by Knight-Williamson and Spears. Primes: Erwin, Erwin, Strauch,
Spears.

11:50 am Miss and Out Criterium

Rules: Race for three laps, then eliminate the last rider across the S/F line
on every lap thereafter until only three remain. Last three riders then go
three more laps to determine the top-3 placings.

2nd) Stephen Knight-Williamson (KHSnm.com)
3rd) Todd Bauer (KHSnm.com)

Following places in reverse order of elimination:

4) Cliff (The Flyer Said Four!) Loucks (Bite Me!)
5) Kurt Larson (Aush Technologies)
6) Jason Strauch (Chick's Harley Davidson)
7) Darren Heinz (Hanseatic/Ochsner)
8) Jamie Ryan-White (KHSnm.com)
9) Dave Allen (Velo del Norte)
10) Dan Swinton (Rock n Roll)
11) Ed Frank
12) Chandler Spears (Hanseatic/Ochsner)
13) Bill McLain (Aush Technologies)
14) Hawke Morgan (Hanseatic/Ochsner)
15) Darian Founds (Aush Technologies)
16) Tony Stroup (Bike n Sport)
17) Tony Pomo (Aush Technologies)
18) Chris Osburn (KHSnm.com)
19) Stuart Knight-Williamson (KHSnm.com)
20) Pat Lujan (Aush Technologies)

Race notes: Some of the eliminations were exceptionally close, determined
primarily by a rider's position in the pack - often there was nowhere to
go. The final sprint between Doornbos and Knight-Williamson was decided by
less than 3 inches. Doornbos squeaked past Knight-Williamson while
Knight-Williamson and Bauer were confused about who was leading whom out.
They suffered a communication breakdown which, unforntunately doesn't
qualify for a free lap. Winner Doornbos barely escaped elimination early in
the race. Primes: Bauer, Bauer, Larson, Bauer, Knight-Williamson,
Knight-Williamson. No crashes.
