Winners' jerseys will be awarded to category champions. A special award will be given to racers who complete all series events for the season. In the event no racer in a given category completes five (5) races, the NMORS Director has the discretion, after all other jerseys have been awarded, to offer a Series jersey to the racer who received the most points in that category.

Scoring

Each rider's top eight (8) results in a given category will be used to calculate their overall point total.
Points will be awarded based the following scale:

Rider Eligibility

In order to be eligible for an overall NMORS award, a rider must finish at least five (5) of the 13 events. Should an event or events need to be cancelled due to course closure or other reason, the number of top finishes for determining standing may be adjusted.

Upgrades/Downgrades

Racers who upgrade their class during the season will start racing in the new class with no points. Points awarded in the previous class will be maintained.

Tiebreaking Proceedure

Ties in the top-three standings in each class and category will be resolved by comparing points awarded in reverse chronological order.

Promoter's Responsibility

Promoters must provide an electronic copy of results within 7-days of the event. Results should be emailed to Steve Mathias (at smathias@nmcycling.org) and David Halliburton (at gotdirtnm@gmail.com) in spreadsheet or CSV format containing the following fields:
USAC License# (or the words "one-day") / Last Name / First Name / Gender / Racing Age / Category / Finishing Placement / City of Residence (if available)
NOTE: It's very important to keep the first and last names in separate fields!
NOTE: Use category labels exactly as the are specified in the table above!
Alternatively, a spreadsheet will suffice as well.
If a promoter combines classes (for example, Pro and Category 1 classes), the results need to identify the NMORS classification for each racer.
Promoters must also pay a NMBRA surcharge of $1 per racer per day. Results will not be posted or tabulated into series standings until the contribution is paid. Your race may not be included in future NMORS' and/or you may not receive a permit in future years if you do not pay NMBRA rider surcharges.

Standings

The NMORS standings will be tracked via the NMCycling.org Results Database by the webmaster. The NMCycling.org webmaster will try to ensure that point totals are up-to-date and accurate. However, I can only work with the information that is provided by the promoters and/or NMORS Director. The NMCycling.org webmaster is not responsible for tracking down missing or incorrect results. If a racer wishes to have his/her points corrected, then he/she must have the race promoter or NMORS Director send in the corrected results.

Other Rules

1. USAC Cat 1 and 2 road racers are encouraged to race either Pro, or Category 1 class mountain bike race groups.
2. Racing age for the series categories is a racer's age as of December 31, 2012.
3. Racers must use exactly the same name in each race.
4. Poor sportsmanship or abuse of race officials or staff will result in ineligibility for a Series championship.
5. For individual races, the race official(s), not the NMORS director, will settle disputes over rules or results.
6. The acting NMORS Director will settle disputes over Series rules or standings.
7. All events in the 2012 NMORS are run in accordance with USA Cycling rules. In the event of an actual or perceived conflict between these rules and any applicable USA Cycling rule, USA Cycling rules take precedence. In other cases, the NMORS Director, upon being advised or becoming aware of the conflict, shall examine the circumstances and resolve the conflict in a way that most promotes fairness and good practice in the operation of the series.
8. Ride safe. Ride well. Have fun. That's a rule.
